May 2017 by the Numbers

Why 'By the Numbers'?
While I'm much more concerned with quality as opposed to quantity, sometimes it's just fun to look back and reflect on what you've done in a specific window of time. Taking a look at what you've done often might be telling . . . here's to hoping that we engage in joyous activities regularly, and perhaps we can learn something from reflecting on how we've spent some of our time, and make changes if need be accordingly. The overall hope here is to celebrate the smaller joys in life, enjoying a measure of gratitude for the everyday and commonplace, as well as the rare and extraordinary.

May 2017 by the numbers:

- One little mite who was quite happy to support McHappy Day. As parents of preemies who had to spend many weeks in the NICU, M and I well understand how important an organization like Ronald McDonald House can be for families.

- Three mothers and dear friends who are driven to drink by the fact that we sometimes feel like 'Bad Moms'. . . fortunately the brand of drink is more often than not Starbucks. Grateful to have these Mamas in my life!

- Ten gal pals who had a blast preparing for and performing their Beyonce medley Airband - bonus that they won Best Overall Performance for their awesome number!

- One fantastic eve of Airbands excitement. Four celebrity guest judges who had far too much fun watching all of the talented performers. One appearance by Canada's own Celine Dion!

- Three exhausting but incredibly fun and rewarding days of racing for our H, who made ROW's travel team and competed at the Amanda Reason Invitational in Windsor. Much fun for family to cheer her on!

- Three little artist friends enjoy creating masterpieces together.

- Two of us chillaxed with half-priced frappucinos while said artists were at work. Love spending time with each of my girlies!

- Six 'craft girls' got together for a long overdue visit. We may have eaten more than crafted, but catching up with such lovely ladies is always an evening well spent!

- Several great luncheon visits with Nanny, during which we, of course, played a few games of cards!

- 42 years of Andrea celebrated!

 - Two days of great competition for both of my little swimmers at the May Money Meet. H even pulled in some cash! Lol!

- Countless neighbourhood friends come out of the woodwork when the slackline gets put up by our dear backyard pals!

- Eight of us celebrating Moms and togetherness around the table on Mother's Day.

- One little mighty mite seems to have mastered the art of bubble blowing.

- One lovely lunch visit with Mom at The Healthy Owl.

- Two hanging planters featuring the fuschia that I select each year ready for the front porch. We're ready for summer and the hummingbirds that come to visit!

- Two fun days of the May 2-4 weekend spent with friends at their cottage. Seven kids had a blast trampolining, playing games, enjoying campfire activities and delicious monkey bread sent up courtesy of Gramma. Six adults had their own brand of fun!

- Three make-shift wine charms do the trick in a classy pinch!

- Two batches of paska made by Mom and so much appreciated. Also brought back happy memories of Oma.

- Four of us embarked on our first-ever geocaching expedition . . . we had so much fun, and are most definitely hooked!

- Eight-and-a-half years of this little Mighty Mite celebrated! How lucky we feel to have her vibrant spirit in our lives.

- Several lovely get-togethers over warm beverages with friends and family, some whom I get to see regularly, and others with whom a visit was long overdue!

- One teapot from the reuse-it sale purchased by my sweet little E and given to me with love and thoughtfulness.

- Four 'Best Time' ribbons earned at her final swim meet of the season!

- Countless hours spent working on the Math Additional Qualification course I'm taking. Lots of great learning and collaborating happening, and only ONE more month to go!

- Two parched gals needed a cold drink to cool off with during an afternoon of together time. Love these shared moments!

- 400 metres run by H, as well as the third leg of the 4 x 100 m relay, at the Divisional Track & Field meet. I loved watching the entire, day-long meet, cheering her and her friends on!!

 - A couple gallons of paint all set to transform E's bedroom into her personalized happy space.

- A mere eight days until I take off for a gals' trip to Las Vegas . . . should be an exciting way to share some time with dear friends!

Summer is just around the corner and I wish you all a happy, sunshine-filled June!
